At SealWerks many of our welded & heat sealed products require some sewn areas. We are well suited for technical type items with close dimensions and stitch count tolerances. We fabricate products for a wide range of industries, but not manufacturing personal garment type items.

We employ skilled sewing machine operators and programable sewing machines to optimize production efficiently.

Heavy-duty sewing has long been a specialty of SealWerks. In addition to some of our standard products, such as patient positioning and bellows assemblies, we provide sewing for oversized and or irregularly shaped items, in thicknesses of up to 1/2″ on the same, or dissimilar materials.

What is commercial sewing?

Commercial sewing is stiching of large quantities of units in the same configuration.

Can vinyl and plastic items be sewn?

These materials can be sewn if they are thin enough and of a softer durometer.

Can different types of stitches be used in close proximity to each other?

Yes, depending on the stitch/machine being used, we may be able to change the stitch type without interrupting the stitch line.

What is the strongest type of stitch?

A lockstitch sometimes referred to as a type 301 lockstitch.

SealWerks provides technical support for your products

Many customers come to us in need of technical advice relative to the viable construction and/or commercial sewing options for their products. We work with heavy canvas, thick-coated type fabrics, as well as heavy high-temperature and specialty fabrics. We also sew lightweight to heavy PVC and other vinyl-type materials. Most of our commercial sewing equipment is set up to handle multiple layers of similar or dissimilar heavy materials, necessary for the functionality of the product. Sewing operators are proficient at handling oversized and/or heavy sewn product requirements. Our open floorplan and in-house manufacturing space allows for all size projects to be laid out during assembly for quality assurance checks for correct design, size and functionality requirements.

The average years of experience for both commercial heavy-duty sewing operators and supervisors at SealWerks is over 14 years. All of our personnel are well versed at proper installation of ancillary and optional features such as zippers and other specialty fasteners systems, as well as military stitching requirements.

Quality assurance

SealWerks maintains a strong commitment to quality assurance. This involves the seamless communication between our engineering department, sales and estimating teams and our production shop supervisors. This has been cultivated over the years, as we know this is necessary not only in the production process, but also in the continuing education aspect for improved quality and efficiency. SealWerks provides a full service approach for cut and sew projects.
