When you need flexible airtight or watertight seals, you need SealWerks. We manufacture custom RF welded, heat sealed, sewn and thermoformed products for OEMs, medical device makers and government contractors, and we build every one of them at our ISO 9001:2015 certified facility in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
SealWerks is one of the few RF welding companies that also thermoforms and sews in-house. A containment bladder, a patient positioning cushion or a heavy sewn strap for mission-critical equipment can move through design, sealing, finishing, assembly and shipping without changing vendors. As a contract manufacturer for over 30 years focused on custom RF welded products and plastic contract manufacturing, we handle prototypes and production runs, and we combine processes on a single product when the design calls for it.
Radio frequency energy fuses PVC laminates, PVC and urethane coated fabrics, thermoplastic films, and PVC and TPU foam at the molecular level. The result is an airtight, leak-proof seam for bladders, inflatables and containment products. Learn more about our radio frequency welding services.
High frequency welding is another name for RF welding, and the term many spec sheets use. We apply it to TPU, polyurethane and other weld-compatible materials when a part needs a waterproof, airtight bond. See where high frequency welding fits your product.
RF seam welding joins two or more layers with pressure and electromagnetic energy, leaving a nearly invisible seam that holds air and liquid. It is the standard method for inflatable, containment and protective products that take repeated stress. Explore RF seam welding.
For PET and other polymer films that do not respond to RF energy, heat sealing and thermal impulse welding apply controlled heat and pressure to form a clean, consistent seal. We handle heat sealed product fabrication in the same facility as our RF welding, so mixed-material products stay in one place. Learn more about our heat sealing services.
As a plastic welding company, we fuse polymers and coated materials into strong, impermeable seams. It suits custom shapes and scales to production volumes, which is why it shows up in medical, military, automotive and pharmaceutical products. Read about our plastic welding capabilities.
Thermoforming heats plastic sheet and shapes it over a mold to make trays, equipment guards, panels, product packaging, and automotive or aerospace parts. We use vacuum forming for most part shapes and pressure forming when a part needs sharper detail. See our full thermoforming services.
Some products require both sealing and stitching. Our commercial sewing team adds straps, webbing, fabric-backed vinyl, handles, tie-downs, and other sewn components to RF welded assemblies. By combining these capabilities, we can create products that require both sealed construction and sewn attachments. Learn about our commercial sewing services.
Solvent bonding chemically joins compatible materials to add Luer fittings, valves and tubing connections, with UV curing available where the application calls for it. It is a common step for medical and fluid-handling products that need secure tube connections. Learn more about solvent bonding.
In most cases, the material and the product’s function dictate which bonding process you can use. Here is where each method fits:
Many of the products we make require more than one process. Compare methods on our sealing process page or review our material selection guide before you start.
Our ancillary services improve how the finished product works and keeps manufacturing efficient:
Need something that isn’t listed here? Tell us about your product and our team will recommend a solution.
We perform assembly, labeling and kitting in-house, then package and ship finished goods from the same facility. Fewer vendor hand-offs means fewer chances for damage or delay. Learn about our assembly and packaging services and shipping and distribution.
Drawing on decades of experience working with flexible materials, our engineers help you design a product that performs reliably and can be manufactured at a sensible cost:

SealWerks is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company. Our quality management system governs how we design, build and ship every product, giving procurement teams a documented standard to qualify us against. Review our quality assurance process.
RF welding works well with PVC & TPU films, urethane coated fabrics, thermoplastic films and TPU foam. Heat sealing is well-suited for PET and many other thermoplastic films that do not respond to RF energy. Share your material and how the product will be used, and we will recommend a process.
Yes, for some products. However, many designs require dedicated tooling before a prototype or First Article can be manufactured. Our team can help determine the best approach based on your product design, materials, and manufacturing requirements.
We don’t have a formal minimum order quantity (MOQ). Order quantities vary by product and project requirements and are determined during the quoting process. Our team will work with you to establish an appropriate quantity based on your manufacturing needs.
Yes. Many of the products we manufacture utilize more than one process, such as an RF welded bladder with sewn straps and webbing attachments.
Yes. SealWerks was founded and operates entirely in the United States. Every product is built and shipped from Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
